She is always beside you. Whatever you need her or not, she is always beside you. Her mood changes every day. Sometimes she treats yours softly, sometimes she may hurt you. She can be your good friend; children like to play with her. She brings you a lot of conveniences but never ask for payment. Although she helps you a lot, you can't understand what she thinks. She always cares about our warmth. When the summer comes, she always helps us to keep cool in some ways. In the winter, she brings warm for us. When she touches our faces, sometimes we can feel the warmth from the deep heart. 

  

She may get mad some time. When she is in a bad mood, I advise you to keep away from her because that will be a disaster. Her mood is uncontrollable, so do not try to do something against her. These days she was not that kind. Maybe she is Ina bad mood, so she was really disturbed. I don't want to be with her because I am afraid that she will get mad. I think it is because of weather. The snow and the temperature made her angry.

Charlie: He started his work the last after enjoyed his time. I think most of the students are similar with Charlie they are willing  to suffer at last. This kind of writer may not write a good essay with in hustle.


Linus: He is the most hard-working boy. I have nothing to say with this kind of writers because they are always good. They should pay attention to write  something in their opinions but do not copy from the book.

Schroeder: He likes to write a lot of stories. He also tried to finish the homework as soon as possible. He used a lot of meaningless sentences between his work because he wanted to reach 100 words. In fact I like Schroeder's way. I prefer to read his work because this kind of works are fun to read.

Good Writing Studies

Both of the two articles talks about good writings. The points they are talking about are how a good writing looks like and how to write a good writing. Both of them mention about writers should take care about the readers. An essay should follow the direction so readers can understand what they are reading. Appropriate explanations are necessary because the writers have to lead readers to the right way. Editing is the important point of writing because I saw most of the rules are focused on editing. Writers need to improve their essay through editing. We can tell that editing is the most important steps of the writing process, but it doesn’t mean we do not pay attention to our first draft. Do not be afraid to write an bad first draft but you need to pay your efforts in it. Do not force to finish it, a good writing needs time to incubate it. 

One of the writing rules which I remember the deepest was “Assume the reader knows nothing, but don’t assume the reader is stupid.” This sentence give me some ideas. Once I was writing an essay, I lost myself into the topic. All I was writing were things appear in my mind, which does not make any senses to the readers. But I did not notice it at all until the my first reader told me “what hack did you write?”. What I did not do was give readers a guide. If we do not do that, there will be no reader who wants to read it. Editing will be the step I focus the most in the next writing. I will try to learn about what is an edit. In the articles they tells us editing is not only a grammar correction, so I expect my next edit job.

Rubric of food essay

In this food essay, follow the rubric I think I can get 3. I had a thesis statement and repeated in the conclusion part. The body paragraphs looks a little bit falling apart. I did not mention that I would write about all the details of dumplings so people may be confused with what I talk about.

· Chinese people like to eat dumpling during the spring festival. Dumpling represent reunion in the family. All the family member come together and have dumpling as their dinner, that it the thing Chinese do every year. 

· At early time, most of the dumplings are home-made. First, people will prepare for their stuffing. The stuffing of the dumpling is usually pork and one kind of vegetable. As I know, people like to put one of green vegetable, Chinese cabbage, Chinese chives or celery in the dumplings. Different kind of dumpling has its own advantage. People cut up the vegetable and pork and then mix them together. They also put some salt and monosodium glutamate and cooking wine in to make the dumpling become more tasty. Then they buy the wrappers back. Wrappers are made by flour, salt and eggs. Dumplings taste good or not are mostly depend on their wrappers. Good wrapper can change the whole flavor of the dumplings.

· Dumplings are really easy to cook. When you go to the Chinese supermarket, you can see a lot of kinds of quick-freezing dumplings. The only thing you need to do is boiling. You even do not need to stir them because it will stave their wrappers. Add a bowl of cold water after a while then boil them until they float up. Then a plate of delicious dumplings are finished. Another way to cooking dumplings is frying. It is more easier to cook and it has its own taste different from boiling. They wrapper are harder and I think frying is more suitable for American.

· Because of the white wrappers, dumplings look very normal. They are easy to make and easy to cook. Dumplings sounds very simple and actually they are compare with other Chinese food. After one bite, you can see the green and white stuffing inside. Because the cooking method is boiling so there will be some liquor stay inside. These colors will attract people to eat them.

· They taste of dumpling can be called succulence and delicious. We can taste the original taste and flavor of the food material. It is unusual for Chinese people because they are used to have the dishes with a lot of condiment. The wrappers are slightly chewy and it make the dumplings become more delicious. Chinese people like to eat dumpling with vinegar. When people make wrappers, they will add some yeast inside and the yeast are base. Vinegar is acid and it can neutralize the base in the wrapper perfectly and make its mouthfeel become better.

· When you smell the dumplings from the outside, you may not achieve your wish. The wrappers wrap up all the tasty stuffing inside it. The only thing you can smell is the smell of flour. The stuffings smell not that delicious either. Dumplings aren’t like other Chinese food, all the delicacy are locked inside the stuffing.

Goals blog

My three goals to the classes.

First one is finishing homework on time.
Second one is writing good articles.
Third is getting a good grade in writing session.

Those were my 3 goals at the beginning of the year. Suddenly the first semester has been near the end. I still remember when I wrote about the the goals after the first quarter. My writing skill is improving and I feel I got some improvement in this class. Now 500-600 words for me is easy as pie. In the winter break, one of my friend ask me to write an essay for her. I considered that if it is more than 900 words, I will not help her. Then when I read the requirement I could not stop laughing. After the a lot of materials, there is a “100-150 words”. Actually I realized I improved a lot.

For the first goal which is finishing homework on time, Now I am familiar with the blog. I can finish all the blog on time and finish all the requirements like pictures. Now I will not be surprised if I see some homework on Saturday because I will look the portal in Friday evening. Ms Guarino’s writing class helped me change my bad habit successfully. I can say I can finish this goal now.

My second goal was writing good articles. I still can not say something absolutely for this goal, but I can feel that my essay is better than before when I revised them. It feels good when I have something to write. My grammar was not that bad before so I can say that I did kind of well in my grammar part. My grammar also get some improvement. I can balance between stories and analysis. I thought that motions can affect people the most so I misunderstood the importance of stories, but now I understand stories are more attractive.   I am now changed my writing after Ms Guarino  told me, and it worked. My essay looked more interesting than before, and I have more interests in writing it. I feel happy about I am keeping improving. I will take SAT test

My third goal was getting a good grade in writing session. Now I do not have this goal. My idea now is just let it goes. I always lose some points somewhere I do not know and I have no idea how to save them. I will take SAT test and that will be my third goal now. Hope I can get a good grade in writing section. Then I am done with writing in high school. I do not want to repeat the same test over an over.

I knew that I still have a lot of thing to do in writing. I am totally different from the beginning and now I know how to write. Keeping strong in the study will be the most important thing I will do in the next semester.

Dumplings revision

In this food essay, I wrote about dumplings, a kind of traditional chinese food which Chinese people eat every spring festival. When I started to work on my revision, I focused on the introduction part. Thesis statement in my intro was not that good because I used ...but... in my thesis statement. This format can not give people a correct comprehension. If I want to show people dumpling is a really nice food, I should all write about the advantages of dumpling. In my body paragraphs, I talked about the background, the way to cook and how dumpling looks, tastes and smells. My idea of dumpling is brief but not simple, so I revised the thesis statement to show this theme. The intro part is the place I need to work on the most.

Then I started to work on the vocab in my essay. Some of the adj are not used clearly. People can not realize what I want to express. Some words are repeated for several times for example delicious and tasty. Actually it is hard to find a lot of english words to describe chinese food.The whole essay should focus on why dumpling is simple to make but why it still taste deliciously. I want to express the glamour of Chinese food culture.

My conclusion should also be changed because of the thesis statement, I should repeat the new theme again. The conclusion did not have enough contents in it so I need to work on the conclusion either.

Resolution

Enjoying rest of my junior's life is very important for me. TOFEL and SAT are coming soon so rest of my junior's life will be really busy. We know that we can not do a perfect job if we are not willing to do things. I need to change my thoughts completely about studying. Why and what I am studying should be clear in my mind. I have a lot of works to do for collage and it starts now.

New Year Resolutions

1. Get a satisfied grade in SAT
2. Save enough money to buy something.
3. Drop the coming guitar class and take it next year.
4. Become athletic
5. Try to enjoy my junior's busy life.
